And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.
Luke 23. 39-43

One fateful day, a young man is led out for execution. He is a robber and full of evil. So bad is he that Crucifixion is the sentence deemed fit for him. But there on the cross and just within earshot is the Lord of righteousness. That is the turning point in His life! That is how a journey of doom was instantly changed and ended up in paradise just some few seconds before its final bus stop in hell.

Everyman like that thief is in a journey to doom. All men are condemned already because all have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Rom 3:23). Men are at various point in their journey to doom. Some have just started while others are at the very bank of the lake of fire. One thing I want you to know today dear reader is that no matter where you are and how bad you have been, Jesus is always by you. He comes to you daily as the Word of God

There was actually another thief dying beside Jesus who decided to deride Him. He actually mocked Jesus. Little did He know that he was rejecting life. Just like those thieves, you have have a choice of response. Whenever you harden your heart or make excuses on why repentance is not an option for now, you are actually rejecting Jesus.

The word of God comes daily to you. You can decide to mock him like the other impenitent criminal. He will not answer back at you. But by then you would have sealed your own fate. It is not God that throws a sinner in hell just because he sinned. The truth is that the all men were hellbound. Adam actually doomed his race to that fate. But God in His love sent Jesus to whisk us from the jaws of death.

“For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (John 3:17-18).

Yes he is condemned because he rejected God’s only way to escape from destruction

The choice is still yours. Choose life or seal your doom. Jesus is always by you. Even if you were at the point of committing murder, Jesus is still beside you. You can either accept him or reject him. But remember, there shall be consequences. This, beloved, is the day of salvation harden not your heart. All it takes to be saved is to confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and to believe that God raised Him from the dead (Rom 10:9-10)

Thank you God for sending your son to me. Almighty God, I believe that Jesus died for me. I believe that you raised Him from the dead. I now commit my life to Jesus and I confess Jesus as Lord of my life. By the authority of your word, I believe that I am saved. I receive eternal life into my spirit. I believe and confess that I am now a child of God. Thank you Father for your grace that saves me
