TEXT: Matthew 8:2-3
And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
Many times, we don’t have trouble believing in the power of God. The Christian who is dying of a terminal disease believes strongly in the power of God to heal him instantly. The one that’s suffering under the burden of lack and poverty believes that it doesn’t take God a snap of the finger to turn around his fortune. The issue actually is that while most of us believe in the power of God, we don’t believe in his willingness to use that power for us or in our case. We believe God CAN heal us but are not sure whether he WILL do so. That exactly is the case of this man in our text. But Jesus clears our doubt here. He says, “I will”
Friend, the willingness of God is never in doubt. He is always willing to save. Jesus says He came to do the will of God. He is the will of God in action (John 4:34, John 5:30, John 6:38). The will of God is that all might be saved (1Tim 2:3-4). He wills above all things that you may prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers (3John 1:2). Never you doubt the willingness of God to heal you; prosper you or bless you. Come boldly to the throne of grace through the way that is opened. The way is the blood of atonement and flesh of Jesus (Heb. 10:19-20).
Of a truth, sin stood against us. The consequence of sin ensured that we never are able to enter into the presence of God. But the blood of Jesus atoned for our sins, cleanses our conscience and gives us boldness to enter. While the body of Jesus was broken to bear the consequences of our sins (Isaiah 63:4-5). We can boldly come on these premises and feel no guilt or estrangement. We have no judgement to fear because the judgment and wrath of God was fully spent on Jesus. We are now entitled to God’s presence, fullness and peace. He’s always willing to afford you. Clear your doubt as to the willingness of God to help you: He says “I will,” and you shall be made whole. Rest on His everlasting love. Believe that God is not only able, but He is willing to heal you, to prosper you, to manifest himself to you and fill you with His power. Yes, He is willing to do it even now. Just believe and receive. His providence is available to you now. Rise and be healed. Walk in prosperity. Receive power for a holy and glorious life in Jesus Name
