TEXT: Ephesians 3:17-18

That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;

Beloved, life in this realm is a continuous contention for a prize. The farmer contends with the earth for food. the athlete contends with others for a crown. the soldier contends with enemies for life and victory. Such is man’s life on earth.  When you give your life to Jesus, the contest is not taken away, rather, you only changed sides. You changed from the wicked and lossing side to the Loving and victoriouse side.

In every battle, every soldier knows the power of the right location. Choosing the right place to stand may be the first and major determinant of victory. Ground matters for buildings; it does for plant as well as for winning a battle. The best ground on which you can stand to win the battle of life; grow, and build is the ground of love.

The bible says that we should be grounded and rooted in Love (Eph 3:17). What love now? The Love of God. By this we mean that we should come to understand the love God has for us and to reciprocate that love in the way that He has spelt out. We must come to the unshakeable conviction that even before we were born, God has known us and loved us (Read Ephesians 1:4-5).

God’s love for you is unconditional. It is not based on what you did. After all, before you even came to life he has loved you. When you were yet a sinner, God commended His love towards you. This love was so strong that He gave you His Son Jesus to die for us (Rom 8:5).

Now that you are in Christ Jesus, He wants you to be conscious of that love. The devil will do his best to take you away from this solid ground. He will make you doubt God’s love as he did Eve and swept her off her feet. Otherwise he will try to make you believe that you are loved depending on how holy you are or what you do for God. that’s not true! You are loved unconditionally. Get this into your Spirit and let it motivate you to reciprocate that love to God. Now the Scripture says the first step in reciprocating that love is to love your neighbors as God loves you (John 13:34). As you do, success and continuous victory is yours.

Thank you Father for your undying love for me

Father  open my eyes to the full understanding of Your perfect love and cause me always to think, speak and act on the impulse of that love.

Father strengthen your church to comprehend the dimensions of your love that we might be filled with the fullness of God.

Father, let more and more come to experience your love in this nation through me and your church
