TEXT: Act 16:22-26

And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them. And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely: Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks. And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.

You might just be going through some challenges now that seem to be too hard for you. The enemy might have you in a particular type of prison, physical or spiritual. You can end your jail term just now! You might be in your midnight hour when everything seem gloomy. Friends there’s good news. Paul and Silas were in their mid night hour, but they did not despair, murmur or complain. Rather they responded with the energy of prayer and praise. They, with prayer and supplication with Thanksgiving made their request known to God. Immediately God proved himself strong in their lives.

You might have prayed, why not manifest your faith through thanksgiving. In Mark 11:24 Jesus says,

“For this reason I tell you, whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

This is why you’re admonished to let your supplication go with Thanksgiving. If really you believe that your request is met, then you’d show faith in Christ by giving thanks. If you’ve made prayers and supplication, what’s remaining to make your obedience complete is thanksgiving.

No matter how dark your night may be, learn to praise God for answers. As soon as you make your request the first time, follow up with unwavering thanksgiving as a token of your faith.  When you pray Satan may try to call your bluff. The faith with which you resist him so that he flees from you is best manifested in thanksgiving. Repeating your prayers of faith again and again is nothing but unbelief in religious terms. Instead, praise God for answers. I see your chains falling off in Jesus Name. That sickness is no more. By His stripes ye were healed. That storm is over friend. Arise and shine!

Now rise up from your bed of doubt, worries and fears and thank God for His Goodness.

Thank Him because He has heard you when you prayed. Thank Him because He’s in charge. Worship Him from the bottom of your heart. Praise him like one who has received answers.

If that money you were praying for got into your account, how will you worship God? Now don’t wait till you get the bank alert. The Lord says He has sent it. Whose report shall you believe, God or your bankers? If that lump, cancer, growth, pain or whatever sickness it is suddenly disappeared, how will you praise God? Now praise God that way. Whose report will you believe, God or the doctor? Come on praise the Lord!
