Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice

Phillipians 4:4

Rejoice always! What a commandment. Yes, it is! Rejoice always…. What about in times of adversity and difficulties? Rejoice all the same. When we do not know where the next meal is coming from? Rejoice all the same. When you are persecuted for your faith in the Lord, don’t carry a long face and cry, Why me? Rather, rejoice in the Lord. God’s word shows us how!

How can a man rejoice irrespective of circumstances? By focusing on God’s Word. The cenre of your focus, will definitely define the state of your heart and mind. A man is defined by the content of his heart not the circumstances of his experience (Prov. 23:7). So what should we occupy our hearts with? God’s Word! 2Pet 1:19 tells us that,

We have also a more sure word of prophecy [God’s Word]; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts”.

Peter says the scripture is more sure than the transfiguration of Jesus that he witnessed (2Pet 1:16-21). It is definitely more sure and real than your challenges.

If you focus on God’s word long enough, the Day Star who is the Sun of Righteousness will arise in your heart with healings in His wings and triumph for you! (Mal4:2&3). Abraham could rejoice in the Lord because he refused to focus on his challenges but on the Word of God (Romans 4:19-22)

I’m not here talking about the human idea called positive thinking: a situation when a man fills his heart with wishful thoughts and hope they come real some day. If wishes were horses, beggars would ride! I’m talking about focusing on what God says about and concerning you as His child in spite of what you are passing through. He says you have been healed (1Pet 2:24). He says you are fruitful and prosperous (John 15:16). He says you’d reign in life (Rom. 5:17). Fill your heart with these and rejoice in the Lord always!

Irrespective of the pains from the illness, the threat from your creditors, the rage of your persecutors and all such terrible things, you can rejoice in the Lord always. Then He’d put you over always! Praise God

Thank you Father for the grace to rejoice always. You are so concerned about me, you don’t want even a fleeting moment of grief for me. What a God and a Father you are.

I receive the grace to focus on your word, the more sure word of prophecy in Jesus Name!

Let the word of God sink into and settle in my heart till my dominion manifest in Jesus Name

Every thorn of worries resisting the establishment and fruitfulness of the word of God in my heart be consumend by the fire of the Word of God in Jesus Name!

Pray for the church now that we’d all be filled with God’s word, rejoicing in Him

Pray for me too!
