TEXT: John 6:18-21

And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew.  So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid. But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid. Then they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land whither they went.

Yesterday, we saw how the disciples presumptuously went into the sea without waiting to have Jesus on board. Now their presumption was threatening their very lives. Yet Jesus did not leave them alone. He came to them. No matter the storm we experience in life, no matter how great and no matter the cause, Jesus the Storm Rider, is with us always to comfort and help us. Let us now look a little further to see how we can appropriate his help.

The scriptures says in verse 21 (NLT) “Then they were eager to let him in the boat….” Now their crisis had sufficiently pummeled them till they became desperate for God. Hallelujah!  They know it was not by wisdom of men or intelligence. So they became eager to let in Jesus the sure solution. Your mindset and response in crisis determine your outcome. Some other people respond by becoming bitter. They complain and speak silly things about God. You should not be like that. Your crisis should make you desperate for the word of God. You hang on God and him alone. Yes that is the mindset needed for an explosive miracle–an accelerated miracle.

Seeking God with that type of heart is what God referred to as seeking him with the whole of your heart (Jer. 29:13). With such mindset, you must find God. If you developed the right mindset during crisis, all things shall work out for your good. Let crisis bring out the best and not the worst in you.

In every crisis, do the following:

Count it all joy (James 1:2)

Understand that Jesus is with you always (Matt. 28:20)

Respond with the energy of prayer

The harder the waves beat the more you should become desperate for God

In wisdom, learn from your crisis

Learn to praise in your midnight hour.

Thank God for He’s with you always no matter the storm and the cause

Tell Jesus that you surrender to Him. tell him nothing else matter.

Tell him you know you are not too embattled to be saved.

Say unto Jesus, Jesus I trust in you! I’m not gonna drown in this storm. I might have moved out before time and without you. but you can right my wrong. If there is hope for a tree that is cut down such that at the scent of water it sprouts again, there is hope for me. though I am tried in the furnace, I am coming out as gold.

Pray for the church of Christ and your local church for God’s intervention against every storm

Pray for the country that the Lord will still the storm beating against it.

Pray for me too
