TEXT: Gal 2:20
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Like a very Reverend Man of God would say, “When you got born again, nothing happened to you. In the real sense, you are what happened” Oh how true! You are the miracle of the season. The Almighty God who inhabits eternity and the spirit realm has just stepped into the earth realm and into time through you!
What happened in the spirit, is that you actually died–ending the life you got from your ancestors; life that is in the blood and sustained by the blood; a life affected by ancestral covenants, curses and sin which are passed down through the bloodline. They ended on that moment of receiving Jesus into your life. Then you got born again. This time not by blood or the will of man but by the Word of God and His Holy Spirit (John 1:12-13). So you cease to be a son of your earthly father, you become a son of God. What a miracle! Jesus has just come in into your life
That may sound strange to you because you may not see any physical change; there may not even be any mental or psychological change. Your mind and character may still remain. But the real you whom the Bible refer to as the hidden man of the heart (your Spirit) has experienced a rebirth. Wonderful as this experience may be, you may be wondering why things still feel the same. Why don’t you feel or think differently? Why do you still have your old fears, worries and temptations?
Have you ever seen a child that started talking and walking and doing everything a person should do as soon as he was born? Of course not! But does the fact that a baby crawls on all fours make him any less a human being? Of course not! Your experiences and shortcomings or how you feel make you no less a child of God than Jesus is. You only need to grow up.
Just worship God for this new life. By this life of Christ in you, you are more than a conqueror. You know why? You are declared a winner with all the accompanied benefits without weilding a sword. Jesus conquered the world and gave us the victory. Now living in you is the Spirit if the Almighty God who made the universe. Thus greater is He that is in you that whatever is in the world. Hallelujah. Tomorrow we’d explore how to grow in this life. Till then, enjoy grace!
Father, thank you for Thou hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light
Thou hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of Thy dear Son
Thank you Father for in Jesus Christ, we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
Glory to your name forever in Jesus Name
