And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; 3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears
Once you stand for the Lord, you are bound to face adversities. They can either be subtle or direct. While the subtle ones come like attraction (lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and pride of life) to lure us from the way of righteousness, the direct ones come as persecution to scare us from the way of righteousness. The whole idea is to make you draw back, knowing that God says, “ if any man drawback, my soul shall have no pleasure in him” (Heb 10:38). We are told that “...all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” (2Tim 3:12). God has not left us alone in this. That is why the Holy Spirit also manifests as THE SPIRIT OF MIGHT
This Spirit operates to strengthen our faith with which we can manifest victory over every attack of the enemy. This is the Spirit that helped the men of old “Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens…. others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword:” (Heb 11:33-34,36,37).
But the Spirit of might strengthened them to face all the trials and subdued them by not giving up their faith or yielding to temptation. So God says they obtained a good report (Heb 10:39). All trial have expiry date. So “If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small” ( Pro 24:10)
This Spirit is available to you today to help you overcome all the trials that come your way. He will cause you to be “Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, [in the face of all adversities so that you can have] all patience and longsuffering [needed to outlive them] with joyfulness” (See Col 1:11). You don’t have to wait for trials. Start storing energy now. All you need to do is to yield yourself to him through diligent study of the Word, praying in the Spirit and declaring what God says concerning you.
